HYPNOTHERAPY FOR DEEP ROOTED ISSUES.

Hypnotherapy is an increasingly popular alternative therapy that works at the root of many problems. Your mind is incredibly powerful, but sometimes it can hold us back or work against us. Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to tap into your subconscious mind and create changes that can quite literally change your life. Hypnotherapy is suitable for all ages and is a safe & effective therapy. Changes can be seen after only a few sessions usually and is also long-lasting.
Every client is assessed to make sure they are suited to Hypnotherapy. The individual needs to want to change themselves and if they do, I can certainly help. Despite what people think what hypnotherapy is – it is not about controlling people but to simply using suggestions to help to change their behaviour and habits.


 Definition of Hypnotherapy 

So contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep.  It does involve the induction of a trance-like condition; the patient is actually in an enhanced state of awareness, concentrating entirely on the hypnotist's voice.  In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is revealed.

The therapist is able to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptations to the patient, the seeds of which become firmly planted. The practice of promoting healing or positive development in any way is known as hypnotherapy.  As such, hypnotherapy is a kind of psychotherapy. 

Hypnotherapy aims to re-program patterns of behaviour within the mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome. As the body is released from conscious control during the relaxed trance-like state of hypnosis, breathing becomes slower and deeper, the pulse rate drops and the metabolic rate falls. 

Similar changes along nervous pathways and hormonal channels enable the sensation of pain to become less acute, and the awareness of unpleasant  symptoms, such as nausea or indigestion, to be alleviated.


How does it work?

Hypnosis is stated to work by altering our state of consciousness in such a way that the analytical left-hand side of the brain is turned off, while the non-analytical right-hand side is made more alert.  The conscious control of the mind is inhibited, and the subconscious mind awoken.  

Since the subconscious mind is a deeper-seated, more instinctive force than the conscious mind, this is the part which has to change for the patient's behaviour and physical state to alter. For example, a patient who consciously wants to overcome their fear of say heights may try everything they consciously can to do it, but will still fail as long as their subconscious mind retains this terror and prevents the patient from succeeding.  Progress can only be made be reprogramming the subconscious so that deep-seated instincts and beliefs are abolished or altered.

What form might the treatment take?

Firstly, any misconceptions a potential patient may have about hypnosis should be dispelled.  The technique does not involve the patient being put into a deep sleep, and the patient cannot be made to do anything they would not ordinarily do.   They remain fully aware of their surroundings and situation, and are not vulnerable to every given command of the therapist.  

The important thing is that the patient wants to change some behavioural habit or addiction and is highly motivated to do so.  They have to want the treatment to work and must establish a good clinical rapport with the therapist in order for it to do so……The readiness and ability of patients to be hypnotised varies considerably and hypnotherapy generally requires several sessions in order to achieve meaningful results.  

However the patient can learn the technique of self-hypnosis which can be practiced at home, to reinforce the usefulness of formal sessions with the therapist.  This can help counter distress and anxiety-related conditions.

Session Requirements

Important session requirements to be set up before we start.

 Video link Requirements :

1. A session can sometimes last longer than one hour, so please allocate enough time for yourself, if this is not convenient, please let me know 24 hours before the session starts so I can adjust the procedure or reschedule for a more convenient time.

2. Find yourself a quiet location with no distractions, where you can be comfortable to lay back. (Bed or couch is recommended - NOT a sitting position)

3. Please refrain from pets in the same area as I've had pets jumping up knocking the clients camera over or distracting the client or scratching and chewing items in the room that spoil the audio and visual set up.


4. Turn all sounds that are not required like notifications and alarms onto silent from your phone, tablet or laptop.

5. Try to locate your camera securely (NOT held in your hands), so I can see you from your waist upwards with your hands resting on your upper body unlocked and your face in view.

6. Your camera phone/tablet/laptop must be somewhere close, so your voice will be picked up clearly.

7. Find a location that has the best broadband signal if possible and make sure you have enough battery power if not using mains.

8. Bring some water with you for afterwards.

9. Please pay the session cost of £60.00 for your session at least 48hrs before the start as I can only hold this time slot until then without payment...
